RE: Top ten reasons you still go RVing despite the price of fuel

$30.00 for a campsite with a view is better than $100.00 for a room with a wall. use the extra $70.00 for gas.

RE: Talk about a Bad Morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being that I live in the Country, and Work at a Federal Prison.....sorry for your loss. But with idiots like the ones who stole your TT, they probably gutted it and sold the scrap. Thats why I have a sign at the end of my drive that says "Property Protected by Smith & Wesson!", Not to Mention my Retired German Shepard police dog "Zeus".

RE: Wisconsin 2008 Spring Rally- May 9th - 11th

I'm on the Camp Douglas Fire Dept, and my pager went off about 10:30pm saying that the River in Baraboo is at flood stage. If anyone has plans to come up this way in the next few days, I'd make other plans. As far as getting into Devils Lake, I don't know the situation as far as camping there goes, But I think that area is pretty much done for the year.

RE: rotted trailer tear down pictures and ?'s

Had to do the same thing with my 76 coachmen. If you need to replace and of the interior studs, I laid the siding on the ground put together and used the screw holes as a pattern for the walls. I had to replace one of the front corners floor to ceiling. the hardest part was fabracating a corner round for the top corner. I also had to replace the whole wall where the shower/tub was. and had to replace the bracket where the turn signals were. WHATEVER you do DO NOT do what the idiot did to try and fix the front corner. He used expansion foam insulation to insulate the front. All that did was push the siding out off the studs. Also, it wouldnt hurt to install some new insulation. I used the styrofoam type in the front, and reinforced the bottom of the front below to window with some 1x2's due to rocks and stones, and sealed the seams with silicone caulking to keep it dry from the rain/water wash when driving. OH almost forgot, I used the clay type weather stripping/molding underneath the corner strips, or you could use self sealing screws, (the ones with the rubber washer on them, sheet metal screws i think they are called)Just some ideas for you. And dont forget to re-tar the seams in the front when your done on the roof. GOOD LUCK!! p.s. Since I upgraded, I now have a decent hunting shack for sale.

RE: Pick up Truck sticker shock!

2 years ago I bought my 97 GMC BURB from a dealer for $3995.00 granted it had 179,000 miles on it but the guy that owned it before was the dealers cousin, he was a mechanical FREAK. He kept a log in the glove compartment on everything that was done, every oil change, tire rotation, I was hesitant about buying it until I saw that at 165,000 miles he has a brand new GM tranny and transfer case installed on it. That was the selling point considering that new trannys and cases run about $1500.00. My point is......don't settle on the first thing you see, LOOK AROUND!

RE: PVC Pipe sign holder

I had the same idea excpet for the T I was gonna put a "Y" and attach flag poles to it to proudly fly my "Wisconsin" and "American" flags, or since I'm orignally from Minnesota , and the wife is from Wisconsin, I'd fly a "Vikings" and a "Packer" flag with a low wattage spot blub lighting them up for when we are camping with a electric hookup so not to run the Batteries down. Also good for finding the TT on a sea of campers when at Music fests.

Looking for any rallies in Wisconsin for the dates of Aug 9th through the 24th...... any info would greatly be appreciated. We just up graded from a 76 24' coachmen to a 08 32' jayco g2 32 bhds, so now everything is not so cramped with the kids, and we can rv in room and style.

RE: Wisconsin 2008 Spring Rally- May 9th - 11th

thanks for al the replies on my question about where to camp. It nice to know that there are people out there that still like to help out. I myself work in a prison, and the wife work in at the school. i've heard about dexter park, been past it, but nere been there in wood county, but north of pittsville there is a much better park called NORTHWOODS. Very well groomed sites with a central play area for the kids with a stream running under the bridge. we went there and caught 1/2 5 gallon bucket of crawdads and had ourselves a crawdad boil. I wanna stay away from the dells camps, too many out of towners, no offense to anyone i hope, we only live about 30 miles away from it. already have reservations for Bufflo Lake CG in Montello, and of course or annual trip to COUNTRY FEST. Cant wait. I have a coworker who has a seasonal site at Willow Creek in RIO i think, gonna camp there one weekend with him. thanks for all the input D.

RE: Wisconsin 2008 Spring Rally- May 9th - 11th

Hello, I'm new to the site and just wanted to say hello. My wife and I just pruchased a Jayco Jayflight G2 32bhds. We live in New Lisbon, WI and are now looking for cheap places to camp with water/elec hooks, within a tankful of gas. We have 2 small children ages 7 girl, and 5 boy, so activities are a plus, but a decent playground is good enough. Also, the camping spaces should be big enough to park my new BEHEMOUTH in along with a GMC Suburban. Any input is greatly appreciated. P.s. these rally's i'm reading about sound fun, how do we get involved? P.s.s We always go to Country Fest in Cadott with the In-laws, and some friends, but am always willing to make more and enjoy the experiences of others who are more versed in the pleasures of RVing. Thank you for your time.

RE: Friction sway controll or dual cam

I just bought a Jayco Jayflight G2 32bhds, purchased a Reese Pro Series 1200 WDH with round bars to go with it, Had a single sway bar from my previous setup and attached that. towed it home from the dealership about 60 miles with no problem doing about 60 mph on straight aways, but there was little to no wind and light traffic. My TV is a 1997 GMC Suburban 1500 with a 5.7L 4x4. From what i'm reading I might want to invest in another sway bar, or will a duel cam work on my hitches round bars? They are the ones that insert from the bottom. Or am I being paranoid? suggestions please. P.S. about the longest trips we take are no more than 200 miles one way.

RE: 2008 Jayco 32BHDS - JAYFLIGHT G2

my 97 gmc suburban 1500 5.7L towed my 32bhds just fine also, didnt have very big hills or much wind though, but starting and stopping were nothing with the right combination of gain/pressure on the brake controller to offset the suburbans small brakes.
